This interactive, theoretical course is intended for all participants who are just working, or are going to work, in the energy, crude oil and/or oil refining industry or in the storage/transhipment of oil products.
The course provides a global overview of the crude oil industry and the main properties of the oil products like: LPG, gasoline, kerosene, gas oil and (residual) fuel oil.

Theory in practice
This theoretical course covers the following topics, amongst others:
- Introduction: briefly discusses the oil industry as a worldwide industry
- Overview: the basic elements of the oil industry
- Crude oil: what is crude oil?, locations/production/consumption aspects, hydrocarbons
- Refinery: what is a refinery?, product range and the major refining processing steps
- Oil products: overview and discussing important quality aspects
The participants receive a compact handout, which will also serve as a source of information. At the end of the course, participants receive a Certificate.
The group size is limited, to ensure interactivity during the day and to provide ample opportunity for questions.
